Sushmita Sen Blender’s Pride Fashion Photo Gallery

Vikram Phadnis stayed true to his signature - bridal wear. The show began with black lehengas, achkans, and saris with brocade embroidery. Just as we were beginning to feel that perhaps Phadnis has gone sober with black and hints of maroon, a kaleidoscope of colours hit us full throttle – green, yellow, fuschia, blue…. Yes, that’s Phadnis for you.
What we love: The designer did well with the blacks. But what we really love is the showstopper who was more charming than the clothes.
Showstopper: The super confident Sushmita Sen. What you see here is the not-so-flattering gold ensemble but what you didn’t see is Sushmita walking slowly down the ramp smiling and blowing kisses to people she knew in the audience, doing a little adab-arze to the shutterbugs and finally breaking into a Bhangra step!
Neeta Lulla presented an autumn-winter 2010 collection of fitted dresses with embellished cuffs and power-shoulders borrowed from menwear. Dhakai motifs in colours of green and pink were used over black ensembles to add an ethnic touch to a collection primarily dominated by western fusion wear.
What we loved: We like a little drama! So we figured that Neeta Lulla’s autumn-winter 2010 (see pic above, right) must have been truly inspired by Balenciaga’s fall-winter 2010 collection (see pic above, left). The masculine shoulders teamed with a draped skirt – ahh what a similarity!
Showstopper: Sameera Reddy was Lulla’s showstopper in an all black ensemble - tights and a cape-style waistcoat.
